The current population of the world offers us a solution to this question. If the first human being, Hz Adam (as), was created fifteen thousand years ago, and if it is accepted that the average life span throughout history has always been 80 years, the number of people in the world today should be 1 trillion or a little more.
According to current theoretical knowledge, the history of humanity, which is said to be hundreds of thousands of years, should be 15,000 years or less than 15,000 years.
What Was The Lifespan Of The First Humans In Human History?
Although this is not enough, if we accept that the people who lived in the beginning were long-lived in the range of 600-1000 years, working backwards, it is calculated that the world population at the time of Jesus (pbuh) was 250 million or less (Miller, C. Tyler. “Living In the Environment” California U.S.A. 1975).
It is accepted that deaths from epidemics such as major plagues and major wars affect only about one and a half per cent of the world’s population. When these are taken into account, the claim that the human lifespan is hundreds of thousands of years becomes untenable.
Even if we accept only the population growth rate as a criterion, it is clear that the lifespan of humanity will not exceed 10,000 years.
Radiocarbon Dating In Determining The History Of Mankind
The radiocarbon dating method used today is an inadequate method. In fact, there is a timeline predicted by the Qur’an and the Hadith.
In fact, the correct results of science and the facts of the Qur’an have always been in harmony and have never contradicted each other, when the matter is approached objectively.
This is because the universe and the Qur’an are two separate Books of Allah. As long as we understand both books correctly and know how to interpret them.
Sometimes the expected inaccuracies are due to the inadequacy of the interpreters.
Hadiths Related To The History Of Mankind
Our Prophet (sall-Allâhu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said, “I came in the afternoon of mankind. In another hadith, he said, “The lifespan of my Ummah will not exceed 1500 years.
The time from afternoon to evening, which is a quarter or a fifth of the day, is 1500 years. Thus, the lifespan of humanity is between 6000 and 8000 years.
In another well-known hadith, it is said: “The lifespan of mankind from Adam to the Day of Judgement is seven thousand years”.
As can be seen, these two hadiths confirm and complement each other (see Kenzu al-Ummal, h. no. 16459; Tezkirat al-Mawduat, I/223; Sahawi, al-Maqasid al-hasana, I/693, h. no. 1243; Munawi Feyzu al-Qadir, III/547, h. no. 4278 (quoted in al-Daylemi)

However, the commentaries on these hadiths are only interpretations. For what is the meaning of the expression “years” in the narration that the lifespan of mankind is 7000 years?
There are other and different interpretations. It should not be forgotten that there may be other deeper meanings and they may add another dimension of meaning to the explanation.
Considering that the speed of the earth’s rotation on its axis and the speed of its movement around the sun may be different from ancient times to the present, and considering that time may also change depending on the speed, it is obvious that time passed faster in ancient times, if only the life spans of large plants and animals in ancient times are compared with those of the present.
