Discovery of the American continent

Discovery of the American continent

How many times was the American continent discovered?  When Christopher COLOMB set foot on the American continent in 1492, this continent was already inhabited by mankind. So he was not the first to find this continent. In fact, he was the last to find the American continent.

If we compile the number, mankind has discovered the American continent 6 times that we know. World sailors and explorers set foot on this continent by sea and land and brought new languages, new customs and cultures.

Some of them stayed here and established empires. A compilation of how mankind first explored and found the Americas from beginning to end.

The First Settlers of the Americas

Discovery of the American continent

If analysed carefully, all the indigenous tribes living in the American continent speak almost the same language. As we remember from Western films, the Sioux, Comanches, Cherokee.

In South America, the Aztecs, Mayans, and others speak similar languages.

These spoken languages prove that they descended from a common ancestral language spoken by a single tribe that came to the American continent a long time ago.

But how did they reach this continent? Just before the end of the last ice age 11,000 years ago, the amount of water in the sea decreased drastically as too much water was trapped in the glaciers.

The Bering Sea, which is now being mined for gold, almost dried up and the Bering Land mass emerged. The first people to settle in America started migrating from mainland Russia to Alaska. But when it started is a matter of debate.

Researchers once estimated that the Clovis tribe, who lived 10,000 years ago, were the first settlers to set foot on the American continent. But now the evidence suggests that mankind set foot in the Americas long, long ago.

Finds in Oregon, Florida, Texas, and Washington State in the Americas suggest that mankind settled in the Americas long before the Clovis people.

The remains in the state of New Mexico date back 20,000 years. A dismembered mammoth in the state of Colorado takes us back 30000 to 50000 years. These and many other examples.

The Na-Dene people who set foot on the American continent for the second time

According to the forecasters, the Na-Dene people were the second group to set foot on the American continent. They crossed the Bering Strait to Alaska about 5000 years ago.

DNA samples obtained from the remains of this people link them not to the modern people we know as Eskimos, but to Native Americans who used the Na-Dene language, such as the Apache people. Na-Dene-type languages are the closest to the languages of the Siberian people.

3rd Time Americans Eskimos

The Inuit are an extension of an earlier wave of migration. the migration of speakers of the Eskimo language. Interestingly, these people use a dialect different from the language of other natives of the Americas. They use a language close to the European Uralic languages. It is estimated that they migrated to America between 2000-2500 BC.

American Continent Traveller Inuit

Just before the Vikings moved towards this continent, Inuit tribes travelled from Siberia towards Alaska. They had become accustomed to the cold Arctic Ocean, taking sea animals as prey and sheltering in ice houses. They then travelled as far as Greenland.

Interestingly, their body DNA structure is almost identical to Alaska Natives.

4th Discovery Scandinavians in the Americas

Discovery of the American continent

In Viking stories, around 980 AD, a Viking named Eric the Red named a vast, icy wasteland “Greenland” to persuade people to move there. In later years, in the 900s AD, they arrived on the Canadian coast with a ship from Greenland.

They settled in the region they entered in the 1000s AD. The Vikings had to deal with cold weather conditions before they could fight the natives. These stories were not accepted on the grounds that there was no evidence until 1960, when researchers found the remains of Viking settlements in Newfoundland.

Where is Columbus? Polynesians also reached America

According to researchers, the Polynesian people used a large double canoe system and travelled as far as Samoa, Fiji, Tonga and the Cook Islands.

Some of them travelled south towards New Zealand. Others travelled eastwards to Tahiti, Hawaii, Easter Island and the Marquise Islands. Then they reached the coast of South America.

It may seem banal, but there is evidence of this journey. Trade. But there must have been more. The East Polynesians have Native American DNA. This shows that they not only met Native Americans, but intermarried with them and formed blood ties.

Finally, Kristomp Columb has reached the Americas

Discovery of the American continent . The year 1492. The people of Europe reached the continent of Asia by travelling the Silk Road or by following the Cape Route in the southern part of the African continent.

The ancient Greek people had correctly calculated the circumference of the Earth to be 40,000 kilometres. However, Christopher Columbus confused these calculations. With an erroneous measurement, he said that the circumference of the Earth was only 30,000 kilometres.

With this erroneous measurement, it was thought that the distance between Europe and Japan was only 4500 km. 1492 was not the first but the last discovery of America for the last time. As they say, there is no need to rediscover America. I guess that’s where this saying comes from.

Even when Christopher Columbus arrived in America, he thought it was India. But by the time he arrived, the whole place was already taken. Discovery was impossible after that time.

Of course there are many more things we don’t know. But now no one will ever discover America again.
