Left-Hand Drive Countries. Countries that drive their vehicles on the left. Different driving routes around the world are attracting attention. If you are looking for interesting information about the reasons behind this practice and how it works, you have come to the right place.

The historical origins of driving on the left are interesting and varied. The practice dates back to the days when horse-drawn transport was widespread and horse-drivers drove their carriages on the left-hand side for defensive purposes. This tradition continued with the widespread use of the automobile and was adopted in many countries.

In terms of road safety, driving on the left has advantages over driving on the right. According to the World Health Organisation, countries where people drive on the left have fewer traffic accidents. This practice is advocated for road safety reasons, and traffic rules in these countries are regulated accordingly.

Traffic Rules And Compliance In Left-Hand Drive Countries

In left-hand-drive countries, the traffic rules are different from those in right-hand-drive countries. In particular, there are some basic differences that drivers should be aware of. For example, traffic coming from the left has priority and roads are designed for left-hand traffic. Also, the steering wheel is on the right and the gearshift sequence is different.

International compatibility is also important for left-hand drive countries. It is important for these countries to ensure compatibility when their borders cross with other countries or when travelling internationally. Left-hand drive has therefore become an international standard.

Driving Traditions In These Countries

Driving on the left is an important part of the traffic tradition of these countries. Historical origins, road safety benefits and international harmonisation explain the reasons for this practice. This tradition lives on as a fundamental feature of the traffic systems of these countries and is part of the daily life of drivers in these countries.

In this article we have examined the reasons for driving on the left and how it works. This practice is an integral part of the traffic culture of these countries and remains an indispensable part of the traffic regulations in these countries. The countries that drive on the left are listed below.

Black box requirement for vehicles . Black boxes will be mandatory for vehicles on motorways by 2024. The European Union is entering a new era of black box vehicles.

The new decision will make it compulsory for all land vehicles in European Union countries to be fitted with black boxes by 2024.

Black boxes, which are only used in aircraft, have the ability to record 41 different pieces of information and the causes of accidents can be better understood with black boxes, which will be sold for 70 euros each.

In European Union countries, black boxes have already started to be installed in cars. By 2024, it will be mandatory to have a black box in vehicles sold. The study of the black box to be installed in vehicles has been completed by the Croatian Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences.

Black Box Will Collect 41 Different Pieces Of Information

The black box, which can record 41 different pieces of data, will be able to record and store this information in the event of a possible accident up to 5 seconds before the accident.

This information includes the car’s current speed, braking level, steering angle, road gradient and seat belts, as well as whether the car has any vulnerabilities. The system will also be able to provide feedback on vehicle faults.
Privacy will be essential for black box data

Confidentiality is guaranteed in the recording of all data. The data will not include the vehicle identification number or personal information that could identify the vehicle owner, and unlike aircraft black boxes, it will not record drivers’ conversations.

Causes of accidents will be better understood thanks to black boxes

The application will make it easier to understand the causes of accidents. It is also expected to reduce the number of fatalities and injuries on motorways.

Black Box Requirement For Vehicles So How Much It Costs

The value of the black box in vehicles will be 70 euros. The black box is already used in some vehicles produced in Europe. The black box is installed and used between the driver and passenger seats in the front of the vehicle.

The process will be completed by 2024…

The European automotive sector is expected to complete the transition process to the black box vehicle by 2024. From 2024, it will be mandatory for all vehicles registered in the European Union to be fitted with a black box for the first time.
